Plagiarism Detection

Similarity Screening and Plagiarism Detection Policy

Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables uses iThenticate, a specialized similarity detection software, to strengthen academic integrity and prevent unethical practices in scholarly publishing.

All submitted manuscripts are screened using this tool prior to the peer review process in order to identify similarities with previously published works and to verify the proper attribution of cited sources.

When significant similarities are detected or a potential case of research or publication misconduct is reported, the Editorial Committee will assess the case in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Depending on the nature and severity of the issue, the manuscript may be returned to the authors for clarification or correction, or it may be rejected.

If an irregularity is identified after publication, the journal will proceed in accordance with its Retraction and Corrections Policy.

Issues related to conflicts of interest, authorship and contributions, plagiarism detection, retractions, and corrections are governed by the journal’s specific policies.

The journal maintains specific policies regarding conflicts of interest, authorship and contributions, similarity screening, the use of artificial intelligence, and retractions and corrections, which complement this Code of Ethics.
