Authorship and Contributions Policy
Authorship of manuscripts published in Vivienda y Comunidades Sustentables is limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or writing of the manuscript and who have approved the final version for publication.
Honorary, guest, gift, or ghost authorship is not accepted. Individuals whose contributions are limited to technical assistance, funding acquisition, or general supervision should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section but should not be listed as authors.
To promote transparency and ensure appropriate recognition of each contributor, authors are encouraged to agree on both the order of authorship and the specific contributions of each author before submitting the manuscript.
The journal recommends that author contributions be described using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).
- Conceptualization: Ideas; formulation or development of the overarching research goals and aims.
- Formal Analysis: Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal techniques to analyze or synthesize study data.
- Investigation: Conducting the research process, including performing experiments or collecting data and evidence.
- Methodology: Development or design of the methodology; creation of models.
- Resources: Provision of study materials, research resources, reagents, computing resources, or open-access datasets.
- Software: Programming, software development, implementation of computer code, and testing of existing code components.
- Writing – Original Draft: Preparation, creation, and presentation of the published work, specifically writing the initial draft, including substantive translation where applicable.
- Writing – Review & Editing: Preparation, critical review, commentary, and revision of the manuscript before and after publication by members of the original research team.
The contribution of each author may be included at the end of the article in a section entitled "Author Contributions Statement".
Any request to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission of the manuscript must be fully justified, approved by all authors involved, and submitted before the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Requests for changes in authorship must be submitted by email and include:
- A detailed explanation of the reasons for the requested change in authorship.
- Written confirmation from all authors indicating their agreement with the addition, removal, or rearrangement of authors. When an author is added or removed, written confirmation from the affected author must also be provided.
