Public policy analysis on the restoration of the Aurora Theater in Riohacha, a vestige of Art Déco

This article analyzes the incidence of public pol-icies in La Guajira (2024-2027) on the restoration of the Aurora Theater, an emblematic art déco relic in Riohacha. The objective is to evaluate how these policies affect its conservation and restoration. The theater faces serious structural deterioration and abandonment, which puts its cultural and architectural legacy at risk, being a historical and cultural symbol for the community that reflects the cultural richness of the region. The research is based on the analysis of bibliographic sources and official documents, reviewing stud-ies on art déco architecture in Colombia and ex-amining cultural heritage conservation policies, such as Law 397 of 1997. The results highlight the importance of the Aurora Theater in the cultural memory of the city and propose strategies for its restoration, highlighting the need for effective policies to support its conservation, ensuring its continuity as an architectural and cultural sym-bol of Riohacha. The restoration of the theater would not only preserve a historical heritage, but would also contribute to the cultural and social development of the community.Metrics
